From Code to Care

How I went from writing code to caring for customers — and found the work-life balance I was looking for along the way.
By MD Atick Eashrak Shuvo · Technical Support Specialist, JoomShaper
At the support desk
At the support desk — where code meets conversation, every working day.

I am a Technical Support Specialist with a strong background in web development, IT operations, and the Joomla ecosystem. I currently work at JoomShaper, where I help customers solve technical challenges, troubleshoot complex issues, and get the most out of Joomla and JoomShaper products.

My professional journey began as a software and web developer. While I enjoyed development, I discovered that a full-time development role did not align well with the work-life balance I wanted to maintain.

Over time, I transitioned into technical support — where I found the perfect combination of technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and the occasional bout of development work.

Today, I combine deep product knowledge with hands-on development experience to deliver practical solutions, assist customers, and contribute to the wider Joomla community whenever the need arises.

Having worked as both a developer and a support professional, I understand challenges from multiple perspectives — an outlook that lets me bridge the gap between users and engineers.

“Technology should solve problems—not create them.”

A Passion, Layer by Layer

Section IV
When the Tickets Close, the Printer Warms Up

Outside of work, I have a strong passion for 3D printing. What started as simple curiosity quickly became one of my most fascinating hobbies — a place where digital designs are transformed into real, physical objects.

My interests span printing technologies, printer hardware, model design, print optimization, emerging manufacturing techniques and DIY technical projects of all kinds. It is, in many ways, the same instinct that drives my support work: take something complex, understand exactly how it fits together, and make it work beautifully.

I continue to learn about new technologies in the 3D printing space, treating each print as a small experiment in patience, precision and iteration.

Section VI
Professional Philosophy

Bridging Users and Developers

Technology, I believe, should solve problems rather than create them. My approach combines technical expertise, practical problem-solving and clear communication in equal measure.

Having worked as both a developer and a support professional, I understand challenges from multiple perspectives. It is this dual fluency that lets me bridge the gap between users and developers.

The result, time and again, is a solution that is both technically sound and genuinely user-friendly — the rare answer that satisfies the engineer and the customer alike.

The Career Journey

The Beginning
Started in software & web development, building the technical foundations and hands-on experience that still shape my work.
The Turning Point
Realised that while I enjoyed coding, a full-time development role was not the ideal long-term fit for my preferred work-life balance.
The Transition
Moved into technical support — a field where I could keep solving problems, help users, and contribute development work when needed.
Today
A career that aligns with both my professional strengths and personal priorities — exactly the balance I set out to find.

Building durable tools for the community that shaped my career.

Beyond my professional work, I actively explore Joomla extension development — building tools that solve real problems faced by administrators and developers every day.

These projects let me sharpen my development skills while contributing something durable back to the community that has shaped my career.

The Next Edition

I aim to keep growing as a technical specialist within the Joomla ecosystem while expanding my knowledge of emerging technologies, automation and 3D printing.

My goal is to leverage experience in both support and development to help users, improve products, and contribute meaningful solutions to the communities I work with — one ticket, one extension, one print at a time.
